Passive House
Project is located In the Brownsville neighborhood in eastern Brooklyn where senior housing is a critical need for the aging residents. The development includes 83 units of senior housing and a social services space for the benefit and services of the senior residents. A community facility on the ground floor is for use by the Brownsville Community Baptist Church as a house of worship. Using Passive House standards, we implemented the highest building envelope standard, use of renewable energy and re-use of rain water systems. Sustainable materials specified include locally harvested and manufactured, low impact finishes and furnishings. LED lighting is used throughout to reduce energy consumption which is controlled by motion sensors and lighting controls.
