SUSTAINABLE FEATURES

City College Performing Arts Center, previously known as Aaron Davis Hall, was originally constructed in 1979.  Heritage Architecture has been retained to perform extensive improvements to the Center. To complement the upgrades of the building, Heritage Architecture was also asked to design a new amphitheater. This new amphitheater will provide a southern public space “book-end” to the campus’ original Quad located at the north end of the historic campus. As part of the initial work, the Heritage Architecture team will lead a large team of specialists in the assessment of existing conditions and systems culminating in a report that refines the scope of work for the project and establishes a cost model for the improvements.  Following acceptance of our recommendations, Heritage Architecture will lead the design team in providing the upgrades to the Stages, Orchestra Pit, Control Rooms, House and Seating Areas, Lobby, Concession Lounge and Outside Terrace, Dressing Rooms, Loading Dock, Roof, Mechanical System, Lighting and Sound Systems, Vertical Transportation System, and the design of the new amphitheater and landscaping.
